Our Technology team are a living, breathing department of highly talented individuals and teams, buzzing with energy, ideas and enthusiasm. Our Technologists are always interested in learning new, innovative and exciting ways for us to aid our business colleagues, and ultimately our customer experience.
The Project Management Practice is the heart of delivery in Technology; enabling new and enhanced capabilities through the use of Agile (Scrum and SAFe) methodologies and providing support, insight and assurance through Delivery Management Office standards and processes. Our goal is to deliver value to the business and our customers. Our team of highly-skilled professionals deliver change that supports Severn Trent’s Purpose and Values, whilst striving to continually improve through effective knowledge and best practice sharing – both across the organisation and externally with our partners and peers.
Your learning will include the use of Agile (Scrum). As you progress, you will support the delivery of standards, processes, frameworks and templates through Agile (Scrum) methodologies. Knowledge developed, will enable you to provide rich and detailed insight through a suite of management information reports.
Your experiences and confidence developed will provide the opportunity for you to lead a delivery Scrum team, who will enable new or improved capability to our organisation.
Developing relationships across Technology will allow you to champion project delivery best practice through collaboration, knowledge sharing and education across the change community and external organisation.
Your apprenticeship will allow you to develop the skills and experience with the options of moving into a Project Management Office Analyst role or a Scrum Master. During this time, you’ll combine on-the-job learning with formal, nationally recognised development training to gain your level 6 degree apprenticeship.
On successful completion, apprentices are eligible to become full members of Association for Project Management (APM), the Chartered Body for the Project Profession.
We have recently moved to a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) within Technology – you will have the opportunity to learn and follow the concepts of this framework which has been adopted by many established businesses around the world. You will be given responsibilities from Day 1, and with support you'll be able to self-manage and ensure the effective delivery of projects.
To help you drive and own your career progression, we’ll provide you with Personal Development Plan. This will be set and agreed with your line manager and reviewed regularly in performance reviews.
Don’t worry, you don’t have to come into the role knowing everything, but what is important is an interest in technology and willingness to develop your project management skills in a fast-paced environment.
We’re looking for people who’ll demonstrate curiosity. You’ll be able to grasp and learn things quickly, learning from your own and others experience, to improve performance in the future.
You’ll be someone who rapidly absorbs information and learning, being able to apply it effectively into the technology activities you support.
You'll take pride and ownership of appropriate tasks and actions, knowing that what you do, makes a difference, holding yourself accountable for delivering what we as a team have promised to do.
Developing knowledge and expertise during your apprenticeship, you’ll be someone who enjoys taking an analytical approach to analysing information from various sources, using this knowledge to inform robust solutions and decisions, demonstrating courage to see tasks through in their entirety.
The Technology team works with a range of stakeholders across the business so you'll be someone who can develop and maintain relationships, showing care with a wide variety of people over a extended period of time. You’ll be someone who is genuinely interested in people, seeking to understand their drivers, needs and expectations to understand how Technology drives business performance.
