Overview of the Role

Unlock your potential as a Mechanical Design Engineer through our Year In Industry Placement at our world-class facility in Leeds! Join our dynamic team for hands-on experience in cutting-edge projects. Develop expertise in CAD, problem-solving, and innovation. Seize this chance to launch your engineering career by managing assigned design projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions, and maintaining controlled expenses.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the design, processing, and technical activities.
  • Assist in the creation of design plans for each order, coordinating specialist support and assisting team members as needed.
  • Assist in controlling the certification of all drawings and technical data issued to the customer and also the approval of all vendor drawings and data.
  • Specify and order factored equipment like mechanical seals, seal systems, and couplings by issuing detailed specifications.
  • Control certification of drawings and technical data for customers, as well as approve vendor drawings and data.

Experience and knowledge required

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
  • Flexibility and adaptability to navigate changes effectively
  • Attention to detail is crucial for success
  • Currently pursuing a degree Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Proficient in the use of 2D & 3D design packages 
  • Familiarity with general Microsoft packages
