Carly Jackson

Network Operator

Why did you apply to Arqiva

I applied to Arqiva as it stood out to me as an exciting, fast-paced business with a whole range of opportunities. It’s large scope of projects and job roles appealed to me, knowing that there would be many opportunities to get involved in different projects and experience different parts of the broadcasting industry.

What do you enjoy about working at Arqiva?

What I enjoy most about working at Arqiva is the endless amounts of opportunities available to me. Whether this be by becoming an Diversity Ambassador and attending events looking to encourage young women to pursue a career in STEM, or taking part in technical training days to help expand and grow my knowledge specific to my job role.

Describe your role (in interesting and exciting terms!)

My job as a Network Operator involves carrying out routine service and platform checks for Digital Terrestrial Television (i.e Freeview). If any issues occur with any of the services we manage, I make sure that the appropriate people are notified whilst also identifying the fault and finding a resolution as soon as possible. I also manage any requests from customers who may be experiencing issues with their service. A lot of these may come via email and phone.

Any advice to potential applicants?

My main advice for potential applicants would be relax, have fun and enjoy the application process! Use the opportunity to ask all the questions you have and learn as much as you can about the industries Arqiva operates in. It will be an invaluable experience, whether or not you are successful in securing a place on the graduate programme.
