About Stantec

Stantec is a professional services firm. Our team of 25,000 global experts provides engineering, architecture, environmental, and project management services across all phases of the project life cycle.

The Stantec Promise

More than our services, we are defined by what we stand for, what we believe, and why we do what we do. Our promise is to design with community in mind. Watch our staff explain why community matters so much to them.

We’re designers, engineers, scientists, and project managers, innovating together at the intersection of community, creativity, and client relationships. Balancing these priorities results in projects that advance the quality of life in communities across the globe.

From large-scale developments to challenging neighbourhood projects, we stretch across our global network to learn from others, offer our support, and gain new experiences along the way. So while we work to help the communities around us thrive, our own people thrive too.

Stantec provides equal employment opportunities to all qualified employees and applicants for future and current employment and prohibit discrimination on the grounds of race, colour, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, genetic information, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. We prohibit discrimination in decisions concerning recruitment, hiring, referral, promotion, compensation, fringe benefits, job training, terminations or any other condition of employment. Stantec is in compliance with laws and regulations and ensures equitable opportunities in all aspects of employment.

Have you ever thought about joining a Graduate Development Programme where you get to work in a diverse, welcoming, and fun environment, on amazing projects, whilst starting your journey to becoming professionally qualified?

We have a large and diverse graduate cohort, spread across all our offices in the UK. You will join our existing cohort of Engineers, Scientists, Project Managers, Data specialist, Environmentalist, Talent Acquisition & HR, Health Safety and Business Management to name a few.  We have a structured 2 year graduate program that is catered to your specific discipline. You will learn on the job, work on some amazing projects and be mentored by some of our industries leading practitioners.

If this sounds like something that appeals to you, then look no further than Stantec, where we have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate to join our Civil team in our new offices in Cambridge.

The Opportunity

Strong communities don’t just happen—they’re built. They’re creatively imagined, collaboratively planned, and Sustainably implemented to meet the evolving  needs of society. At Stantec, we’re driving the future of Community Development. Our experts lead their fields, collaborating on projects that are as technically challenging as they are impactful, creative, and fulfilling. We’re a place where you can apply your passion - and find endless opportunities to help make communities more equitable, resilient, and liveable.

We’re looking for a highly motivated engineering graduate who is passionate to develop both professionally and personally and has a strong interest in sustainable urban development.

You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients on major new settlements across the UK, and further afield. From new towns, urban regeneration, and community-based projects, our work is closely aligned with the governments national house-building and climate change agendas, and you will be part of a team working to tackle some of the big challenges around balancing the rapid delivery of new housing, while also reducing carbon emissions and protecting our environment.

You will work on a range of projects involving the design of enabling infrastructure, innovative strategic SuDS and the realisation of walking, cycling and public transport infrastructure. We work across all stages of development, from concept and strategy work, through to detailed design and construction.

We will enable you as a young professional to develop a sufficiently broad skillset so that you can work both independently and as part of a team. As your experience grows, you will be given increasing responsibility for the management and delivery of work streams to achieve agreed outcomes successfully. Your role will be varied and challenging, and you will be supported by colleagues, who will provide the training and mentoring necessary to help you achieve your professional development goals and opportunities for career progression.

A Graduate in Cambridge

As the UK’s ‘capital of cycling’ our team is perfectly positioned to develop and export the vision of what the urban infrastructure of the future can look like.

We have a large and diverse graduate cohort, spread across all our offices in the UK.  You will join our existing cohort of Engineers, Scientists, Project Managers, Data specialist, Environmentalist, Talent Acquisition & HR, Health Safety and Business Management to name a few.

The skills and experience we look for in our graduates:
