The Opportunity

With every community, Stantec redefines what’s possible.

Your role:

We are looking for a Graduate Hydraulic Engineer to be based in Warrington, joining our 2025 Graduate Programme.

We have an exciting opportunity for an aspiring Hydraulic Engineer to join our collaborative Leeds team to support the delivery of various major frameworks, both locally and nationally. You will play a key role in the hydraulic design and pipeline systems of water and wastewater treatment works. Using advanced techniques such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and surge analysis, you will process data, conduct calculations, and develop hydraulic models to support the delivery of innovative solutions to our clients.

We know our continuing success and development depends on yours, so we go all the way when it comes to giving you the support you need to be the very best. Each graduate will be allocated a chartered engineer to act as their mentor to enable them to achieve chartered status.

Stantec is a truly multidisciplinary environment and offers lots of opportunities for professional growth, learning from subject matter experts and being exposed to a wide range of challenging and impactful work.

About you:

At Stantec, we value your potential over past experience. Along with your Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and a keen interest in the water industry, we’d love to receive your application if you are:-

  • A Striver: Exhibiting ownership, consistently delivering on tasks and objectives. You’ll be motivated and proactive in your tasks, having the desire to make a real difference.
  • A Collaborator: You’ll love to work effectively with lots of different people at different levels, all inputting their part towards a shared goal.
  • A Planner: Organising and managing your own activities, dealing effectively with multiple priorities with a structured approach.
  • An Adapter: Able to remain calm in new situations, comfortably switching between a variety of dynamic and exciting tasks.
  • A Multi-Tasker: Thinking about more than one task at a time, while still having an eye for detail.
  • A Problem-Solver: You’ll love to give your thoughts based on what you see, being unafraid to challenge conventional thinking.

Please note, we ask our graduates to come into the office 4 days per week, to ensure that colleagues are able to provide the appropriate level of support.

What we can offer you:

  • A competitive salary
  • Private medical insurance
  • A range of benefits, including holiday buy and sell, group income protection and life assurance
  • Permanent employment contract to demonstrate our commitment to your long-term career at Stantec
  • Professional progression plan, supporting you to gain professional chartership
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment and Early Careers peer group and wider ERG network

We offer multiple start dates throughout next summer in June, July, August and September.

Please note: we recruit on an ongoing basis and therefore may close this role before the stated closing date so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

We've signed the Gradcracker feedback pledge.
(This means that we will supply feedback if requested after an interview.)
