Due to the nature of DXC High Secure Technical stream candidates are required to satisfy client security clearance requirements. This is a rigorous process that evaluates your suitability to work in a secure client environment. To be eligible to be submitted for this process, you must:
Be a UK national, with at least one parent being either a UK or Commonwealth national;
Have been resident in the UK continuously (not including brief holidays abroad) for the past 10 years;
Have had paid employment prior to this post;
Be drug or substance misuse free from the time of your application (and commit to having a hair follicle drug test to confirm that); and
Be happy to take part in a comprehensive interview with a qualified vetting officer DV will consider the applicants loyalty, honesty and reliability, and whether there could be particularly vulnerable to bribery or blackmail. They will question the applicant about their wider family background (relationships and influences), past experiences (if any) of drug taking, financial affairs, general political views (though not which Party you support), hobbies, foreign travel and so on.
You will also be subject to additional checks as part of DV such as:
Extensive Criminal Records Check
Financial and Credit Reference reviews
While you are waiting for security clearance, DXC will assign you to other areas of the business in technical roles that will help you develop the basic skills required for your future assignments. You will also be exposed to various technologies such as: Powershell, Virtual basic, Batchfile, MySQL, Presentation servers and will have access to Leadership training, and eventually, client specific technologies. Once you have successfully gained your clearance you will then join the team of expert engineers in the High Secure Area.

Installs, investigates and resolves matters of significance with computer software and hardware equipment.
Essential Job Functions
Analyses, logs, tracks and resolves software/hardware matters of significance pertaining to networking connectivity issues, printer, servers, and applications to meet business needs.
Performs troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems; documents system events to ensure continuous functioning. Recommends course of action and implements as approved.
Upgrades system software and hardware components as required to meet business needs; coordinates backups. Ensures upgrades are occurring in accordance with established parameters.
Coordinates the installation of client department specific applications and systems. Determines appropriate method for installing applications and systems; resolves matters of significance and implements corrective course of action as needed.
Installs, tests, upgrades and configures system files and services to enhance performance.
Utilises standard corporate tools to record change and problem activities for tracking purposes.
May require on-call, shift, weekend and evening work
