EC&I Engineering Placement - Engineering and Outage

Electrical, Electronics, Control & Instrumentation, Energy.

About RWE Generation

RWE has a clear direction of travel for the future: to become carbon neutral by 2040. In support of this we are targeting investments of tens of millions of £s to decarbonise our sites. In the meantime our CCGT plants still have a vital role to play.

RWE Generation
RWE Generation in the UK generates electricity from gas, biomass and hydropower. Our flexible, efficient power plant fleet builds the bridge to enable renewables.

As more and more energy is produced from renewable sources such as wind and sun, the energy system becomes increasingly weather dependant. Our gas stations are crucial to fill the gap when there is not enough wind or solar energy available to meet demand. This means we can help ensure a steady supply of electricity.

In 2023, from its gas fleet alone, RWE generated enough electricity to power the equivalent of around 8.5 million UK households. Gas-fired power stations are the logical partner for renewable energy, as a bridge technology in order to ensure the transition to a zero-carbon economy is accelerated whilst ensuring security of electricity supply.

About the role

Are you interested in an engineering placement with one of the UK’s largest energy producers? Our Engineering and Outage group has an exciting industrial placement opportunity, and are looking for a motivated team member with excellent interpersonal skills!

Within this group, our C&I (Control & Instrumentation) and Electrical Teams are responsible for the management of all associated aspects of work across these disciplines.

You will be responsible for providing key engineering support to ensure our fleet of power stations can be operated safely, efficiently and with the greatest possible commercial flexibility. The placement may be based at any of the existing RWE Generation sites across the UK or our headquarters in Swindon.
