An excellent opportunity is available for a R&D assistant to join our Air Care R&D team to provide maternity cover, circa 12 months.

Introduction to R&D at RB

R&D at RB is truly unique and we are proud to be different. Here's a quick overview of our R&D organisation.


  • To Assist R&D Associate in technical development of new products and enhancing performance of existing products within Air Care
  • Lead laboratory based technical testing & qualification programmes.
  • Work with other laboratory assistants & technicians to plan & execute test plans as per agreed protocol.
  • Work on new formulations & delivery systems for Air Care for the next generation of Air Care products. Consider consumer implication of the technical development. Work with cross functional team to contribute in the development planning & implementation.
  • To have understanding of consumer needs and insights for Air Care, underpinning product development and delivery and resulting in exciting and relevant new ideas and opportunities appropriate for the assigned formats and the wider Air Care portfolio.

Is this You?

  • Must be qualified to at least degree standard in a relevant scientific discipline e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Engineering etc.
  • A bias for action. Extremely focussed to ensure that experimental programmes meet objectives. The ability to overcome obstacles by getting support from others and strong problem solving skills.
  • Good communicator coupled with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of working in the laboratory. A desire to better understand the consumer to deliver new benefits through technologies.
  • Exceptional skills in experimental design and interpretation of results. Experienced in the practical applications of laboratory based technology development.
