We have an exciting opportunity in the AMRC for someone with a passion for Technology looking to use their skills in Engineering to make an impact in a growing team.

You will join the Integration team in our large and diverse academic department of the Integrated Manufacturing group in Factory 2050. You will work in a well-connected team with world-leading reputations in delivering technology into industry. We are well known internationally for our research and are one of the largest research groups in Automation in the UK.

You will play a key role in maintaining our reputation for technology integration by using your skills to deliver advanced automation solutions. As this role requires new ways of thinking, it provides an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in delivering cutting edge solutions.

You will have;

  • A good degree (or equivalent) or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering or science subject.
  • Skills in, and experience of, control and systems engineering.
  • Experience of motivating and communicating within a team of staff.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, report writing skills, experience of delivering presentations ; communicating to staff at all levels the organisation’s strategic plan and their personal contribution towards it.

The Integrated Manufacturing Group is part of the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) is a cluster of world-class centres for research into advanced manufacturing technologies used in the aerospace, power generation, medical and other high-value manufacturing sectors. The cluster has a global reputation for helping companies overcome manufacturing problems and has become a model for collaborative research involving universities, academics and industry, worldwide.
