Are you interested in working for a world top 100 university?
We have an exciting opportunity in the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre for someone with a passion for engineering who is looking to use their skills in manufacturing to make an impact on UK productivity.
As a Project Engineer in the Integrated Manufacturing Group, you will work on a number of engineering projects focusing on the use of automation systems for high value manufacturing. You will be required to use both a theoretical and hands-on approach to solve complex engineering challenges.
Involvement in the Factory 2050 Integrated Manufacturing project is a fantastic opportunity to influence the way products are being manufactured and to develop innovative solutions to industrial problems in the UK. You will deal directly with some of the most advanced technologies and companies in the world. Some of these companies include Airbus, BAE Systems, Spirit Aerosystems, GE, GKN and Bombardier.
For this role, you will need previous experience of working in a practical environment and should also have a good degree in a relevant subject (or equivalent experience). You should also have excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively organise project resources. It is key that you are able to work well within a project team made up of internal colleagues and external customers.
The University of Sheffield AMRC builds on the success of the original Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre with Boeing, creating a cluster of industry-focused manufacturing R&D centres and supporting facilities. The AMRC with Boeing, established in 2001, has grown to become a world-leading centre of advanced machining and materials research for aerospace and other high-value sectors. It has around 100 industrial members, from global giants such as Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems and Airbus, to local small businesses.
We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
