Why did you choose to work for Tata Steel?

As a science student, metals, especially steel, fascinated me very much. So, it was natural for me to apply to a large, reputable company such as Tata Steel. I knew my career would be in safe hands and I could grow as a person and as a professional. It has been a wise decision because I love working here.

Please describe development opportunities you have had since joining Tata Steel?

As a graduate you get to see different areas of the business and through this you get a wide appreciation of the business. I have been to the BOS plant, the Plate Mill, Central Labs, Blast Furnaces and the Coke Ovens in both technical and operational roles.

Right from the start I was given responsibility and given projects, which were of use to the business. This helped me interact and network with people while at the same time getting more confident. Moreover, each graduate who joins the company is assigned a mentor and a buddy who help you through the initial period as well as aid in developing your professional career.
