The Role 

If you want an opportunity to test your academic knowledge and training in a practical, professional setting, Tata Steel can offer a fantastic learning experience.

Our placement programme offers undergraduates the chance to develop hands-on commercial experience in a complex and large-scale professional setting. It’s a chance to work on real life projects and take on personal responsibility for delivering high quality outcomes. But you can also be confident that you’ll have considerable support and encouragement from a highly experienced team, who are experts in their fields.

Our Manufacturing function plays a vital role in keeping our sites running smoothly. Working closely with colleagues in and beyond Manufacturing, to ensure that plant performance is optimised and that production targets are achieved. This involves operating at pace, with precision and to accurate technical guidelines.

The roles are varied - you will be involved with all elements associated with Manufacturing, including health & safety, quality, customer focus and production efficiency. Your motivation will always be the same - to ensure our customers’ requirements are achieved on time, every time.

To be eligible for a placement you should be on track to achieve a 2:1 degree in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing or Operations-based Management.
