Tarmac, the UK’s leading sustainable building materials and construction solutions company, is offering a number of one year placement opportunities for undergraduates for the first time in 2018, as well as a range of two year graduate programmes.
The company is offering a variety of roles across its business. The schemes have been designed to build business skills and provide graduates with a real insight into the specialism that they choose - be it in general management, engineering, operations management or finance.
Commenting on its graduate programme, Martin Riley, senior vice president at Tarmac said: "Construction and manufacturing is a fantastic industry to be in, offering an incredible range of jobs for students from STEM backgrounds and enabling them to play a part in creating the UK’s infrastructure of the future.
“I’m passionate about this sector, and, having started off as higher apprentice myself, i’ve seen first hand the kind of career progression it offers. We are looking for talented and motivated people to join our graduate programme, so that we can work with them to build their skills, develop successful within Tarmac, and make a real contribution to the UK's future.”
Katie Paparestis, a Film, TV and Games Design graduate from Nottingham Trent University, joined Tarmac in 2016 as a Commercial Graduate. On joining the company, she said: "I joined Tarmac, not only for its market-leading reputation but also for its emphasis on personal development and diverse opportunities to progress within the company. Tarmac has supported me throughout my graduate programme, which has been extremely rewarding, as I have been given hands-on responsibility early on to make a real contribution and to add value to the business."
