This graduate position will allow you to join the Information Technology & Digitalisation(IT&D) with your role based at our Branch office in Burnaston (Derby). You will have the opportunity to work on a number of projects with all departments across our Burnaston (Corolla Vehicle Production) and Deeside (Engine Production) manufacturing sites, along with our IT&D colleagues in other locations in Europe and in Japan, and external suppliers.
Our Branch office In Burnaston, has the responsibility to ensure we deliver required IT systems which can best support the manufacturing operation in the UK.
You will have visibility of the end-to-end vehicle manufacturing process and see the impact that IT systems have on the effective operation of our production line. We want to take full benefit of utilising available digitialisation tools (including Data Analytics and IOT technologies) to drive our organisation forward, whilst ensuring we meet all cyber security requirements.
You will work to ensure we deliver systems and solutions which further enhance our manufacturing operation in line with our Toyota philosophies. Working closely with our Toyota Production members to deliver robust and usable solutions which contribute to increased productivity and efficiency.
You will be given real responsibilities from day 1, and whatever you are working on will develop your problem-solving skills and introduce you to people across the plant and the wider TME organisation. It will be a challenging scheme but with plenty of support from you colleagues.
We place great emphasis on learning by doing - usually through structured, on-the-job training. So, over the course of our programme, you'll find yourself tackling live projects and taking on real responsibilities in your chosen field. Our graduate programme lasts for approx. 19 months, it is assessed and designed to help you reach the standard needed to move into a specialist position at the end of the programme.
All graduates will take part in six weeks of line training. This will mean that for those six weeks you will work on an area where we build the cars down on the shop floor. Although tough, this experience is extremely rewarding and interesting and gives you a real hands-on insight into what Toyota Manufacturing is all about. We believe this experience is crucial for your personal development and rather unique to our company.
Due to the great scope of the role, you will need to have an innovative mindset, enjoy problem solving, and most importantly have an excellent communication skill. We want self-motivated individuals who share our values, and beliefs that there's always a better way.
So, if you thrive on analysing problems from different angles to develop solutions and take a practical approach to your work, you could go a long way with us. You should also have a consistently strong academic record, with a minimum 2:1 predicted/recently achieved at degree level. IT related degree required, Computer Science, Data Science or similar.
