Procurement is the process of purchasing goods or services for use during construction. At Mace we work with over 1,000 different suppliers all of which have been chosen around our core values. This has allowed us to create a supply chain which are an extension of Mace. We pride ourselves on our collaborative approach with our suppliers ensuring that we are able to fully utilise their skills and expertise to continue to deliver landmark projects throughout the UK and internationally.

The Role

As a graduate procurement assistant, you will be involved in the support of identifying and managing strategic agreements and relationships with our suppliers to drive a more effective and profitable business.

Working as a graduate procurement assistant your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Researching the UK construction market, with a heavy focus on London
  • Developing procurement strategies for board approval
  • Managing relationships with key suppliers and categories.
  • Identifying and delivering saving and service improvements,
  • Developing business cases for board approval
  • Market analysis and report writing
  • Supporting projects throughout the procurement process ensuring a consistent approach across the Mace business
  • Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders about procurement strategies and processes.
  • Monitoring performance and identifying strategies for continuous improvement.

Professional Qualification Routes

Graduates working in procurement will be supported towards achieving accreditation with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).

Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum 2.1 undergraduate degree (expected or obtained)
  • 240 UCAS points and Grade C in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications)
  • Evidence of significant extra-curricular activities that demonstrate drive and excellent interpersonal skills
  • A passion for a career in the construction industry.
