"The bid team is a great for networking with both internal and external stakeholders."
I joined Mace in May 2021 following my degree in BA Geography and now I am an Assistant Bid Manager. I wanted to join Mace because I participated in Mace’s Week in Construction while in college and loved the company and the diversity of roles within it.
I joined Mace in May 2021 as a Bid Coordinator, and began working as an Assistant Bid Manager in March 2022. Since starting, I have supported on a number of bids across multiple sectors including Aviation, Data centres, Education, Energy, Highways, Mixed-use development, Rail, Regeneration, Residential Accommodation, and Utilities.
I am working with the property team (consult) as an Assistant Bid Manager. Prior to joining Mace, I didn’t known much about bids. The bid team is also known as the work winning team.
We put together documents and presentations in response to a clients invitation to tender. Activities vary day to day depending on what bid you are working on and include: supporting with managing the budget via finance, evaluating tender documentation, facilitating workshops, and assisting the bid manager throughout the programme.
The bid team is a great for networking with both internal and external stakeholders.
I recently undertook the APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) Foundation Certification. This is for those with 1-3 years of bidding experience and is to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of best practices. I have also taken non-official training throughout my time at Mace, including beginners InDesign training.
