The Concept

Bouygues Travaux Publics, an affiliate of Bouygues Construction, is looking for a recent graduate to join their specialist civil engineering team on an exciting development programme.

You will be working in the civil works sector for two years, either in France or in other countries, on a varied range of operations (bridges, road & rail structures, civil engineering, underground networks, dams and ports) all with a high degree of technical complexity.

At the end of the two years you will join Bouygues Construction`s headquarters at Challenger, France to learn about our expertise with French language courses. 

Building the Future

One of London’s largest excavations has now been completed. With five storeys below ground and a depth of 28.5 metres, it is big enough to contain the Royal Albert Hall.

Your Main Duties

You will be the "go-to person" for the customer, the company`s senior management and the subcontractors, either for the entire contract on small operations or for the package for which you are responsible.

You will:

  • Ensure that the contract is being carried out correctly, according to technical and architectural specifications.
  • Guarantee the financial profitability of the operation, meeting all requirements of schedules (quality, safety and cost), whilst optimising the works being carried out under your responsibility.
  • Coordinate the various contributors on the site and, depending on the size of the project, maintain relations with the customer and the various stakeholders.

Your duties will vary according to the size, the state of progress and the technical complexity of the project. You may be involved in the preliminary stages (physical installation of the site, definition of working methods and procedures, appointing suppliers), during construction (supervision and coordination of works, enforcing health and safety runes, budget control) and the completion/handover phase (correction of defects and completion of outstanding works).

Your Profile

You must hold a relevant degree or MSc qualification with at least a 2.1 grade or above. We are looking for individuals who can work collaboratively, show initiative, has a passion for complex structures and wants to work at the very heart of production. You must be flexible and mobile, and have a meticulous attitude with the people skills needed for work teams to operate smoothly.
