About us

Bouygues Travaux Publics (TP) have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Civil Engineer to work for us on our Align project.

Bouygues Construction in brief

The construction of the Chiltern tunnels and Colne Valley Viaduct are two of the most eye-catching and challenging engineering projects on the HS2 route. Align is the joint venture created to achieve this task – we've created one integrated team of specialists from three partners with global reputations: Bouygues Travaux Publics, VolkerFitzpatrick and Sir Robert McAlpine.

By joining Align you can become an integral part of this landmark project – with the opportunity to develop your expertise as the project progresses and leave a legacy to be proud of for the rest of your career.

Job Purpose and Scope:

Supporting our prestigious Align project the Graduate Civil Engineer will learn and develop the skills necessary to support the project in the co-ordination and control of the onsite construction process. Working with a Site Manager or Project Manager the Graduate Civil Engineer will be given responsibility for a project section or work package to ensure that the site build progresses in line with the plan.

Our graduate programme will start in September 2022.

Essential & Desirable criteria:

  • A 2:1 in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • A genuine interest in the construction industry

Graduate programme

You will be enrolled onto our graduate programme which is a two year structured training scheme. The programme is designed to enhance and develop soft skills and technical capability through a blend of classroom based learning and on the job training.  Our programme offers a balance of training and on the job learning to support your transition to becoming an accomplished professional. Graduates will take responsibility and accountability for their careers, while we offer guidance and support to help you reach your goals. We will support your route to chartership and give you the opportunity to develop different skill sets outside of your specialism.

Additional project information, the C1 Package includes the following elements:

  • The iconic Colne Valley Viaduct which is a “structure of international significance”; 3+ km long and spanning the lakes of the Colne Valley (architectural images can be found online).
