The construction industry is a challenging environment to work in, in a positive way, as there are always new things to learn and many options for my career to progress.
Challenges and responsibility often come hand in hand, and some of my most challenging tasks have involved a lot of responsibility and the coordination of many trades all at the same time. Challenging but very exciting! And through this I have learnt how to work independently while working as part of the team, to prioritise my workload and how to work under pressure.
The strength of support that my line managers have given me since day one has been brilliant and has helped me to improve in ways some much greater than just my technical knowledge. And I love working as a team, supporting and helping each other, working towards the same goal, it is so exciting.
So if you are thinking of a career in construction, be ready to be challenged and to enjoy an exciting industry.
