Architectural Technologist / Assistant

Budding architects/architectural technologist who are enthusiastic, self-motivated and keen to develop their skills will settle in quickly at this well-established firm. You can expect to become a key member of staff and expand your roles and responsibilities past the initial six months if you perform well. If you’ve got a particular passion for residential projects, then your interests will be well served here. There is also a second role available for an individual with relevant experience and/or further qualifications.

What’s the organisation all about?

The business is Oasis Studio, a multi discipline architectural design and visualisation company for the built environment based in Eckington, Sheffield, and established for 13 years. In conjunction with these services, they supply Virtual Reality and associated web based applications to a range of national clients in the UK and are expanding overseas. Their client base ranges from bespoke Peak District cottages through to large scale residential developments throughout the UK. Their approach to architectural services is to employ the latest software and technical resources and they continually challenge the old ways of working to deliver an inclusive client experience.

What would you be doing?

You’ll be assisting the ongoing delivery of architectural services to national residential developers. Typical activities might include:

  • Sketch appraisal through to design development
  • Completing planning documentation
  • Producing detailed technical drawings
  • Visualisation activities including services 


Starting an internship

What type of person are they looking for? 

The successful person for this role will:

  • Have a degree in an architectural field, or any degree provided they can demonstrate relevant skills and experience
  • Have a good understanding of residential building design
  • Be competent in both Revit and AutoCAD
  • Be IT savvy with working knowledge of Microsoft products
  • Have great communication skills, able to liaise with clients and colleagues both over the phone, via email and in person
  • Be able to confidently deliver presentations
  • Have great team working skills – this is a close-knit office and you could be working with a mixture of different people
  • Pay close attention to detail and have a flair for design
  • Be flexible! Their clients demand high quality in short timescales, so you need to be happy to get stuck into whatever needs doing, and do a great job!
