Vision 2018: Our Company Strategy

Our priority is to achieve leading positions, excel in our work and build the best team of people who share our values - brightness, integrity, team spirit and excellence. This strategy is our starting point for creating innovative and sustainable solutions for our clients.

The Role:

Are you a recent Graduate Scientist or Graduating this year, looking to start your career?

We have exciting opportunities for Graduate Scientists to join our Water (Coastal and Rivers) team based in Exeter, Haywards Heath, Peterborough, Leeds, Edinburgh or Newcastle.

Our Water Business Line is continually in demand worldwide for projects involving coastal and river management and the enhancement of the environment. Our broad knowledge and experience enable us to find practical solutions for the most complex of problems, for example flood risk management against the backdrop of climate change and coastal erosion.

You will work within a team where you will be expected to take on responsibility at an early stage. Your involvement in and contribution to the project team, which may include other disciplines within the company, will be actively encouraged. You may also be involved directly with individual clients with whom you are expected to promote a positive working relationship. You will also be expected to plan your own time and assist your team leader and project managers in determining the resource requirements for your work.

You will be in a position to plan your route and have the drive and enthusiasm to reach Chartered status. We will assist you with this and Royal HaskoningDHV operates an excellent “Young RHDHV” programme whereby we link graduates together across the different business lines and across different countries. This will help your development and broaden your network and horizons.

As a graduate with Royal HaskoningDHV you will commence on the company’s 18 month graduate development programme ‘LAUNCH’. Developed by Royal HaskoningDHV’s experts, LAUNCH ensures you receive the core technical and professional skills you need to support your early career with Royal HaskoningDHV.

You'll receive one-to-one mentor support provided by internal experts, on the job training, tool box talks and knowledge share seminars, ensuring you are continually broadening your knowledge base and expertise. In addition, you'll meet fellow graduates at our residential networking events, providing an excellent base to share experience and knowledge as you develop in your role.

The 'LAUNCH' programme combines the skills required to progress your professional Chartership, as gaining this will play a key part in your contribution to the business and your continued professional development. Our accredited professional training schemes provide routes through to Chartership for ICE, CIWEM, IMechE and other relevant institutions

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Appraising the feasibility of alternative solutions
  • Contribute to the production of assessments, studies and reports
