Graduate Civil Engineer - Birmingham

The role

Are you a Graduate Civil Engineer, either just graduated or with a year plus experience looking to further develop your career?

We have exciting opportunities to join our Water (Coastal and Rivers) team based in Birmingham.

Our Water Business Line is continually in demand worldwide for projects involving coastal and river management and the enhancement of the environment. Our broad knowledge and experience enable us to find practical solutions for the most complex of problems, for example flood risk management against the backdrop of climate change and coastal erosion.

You will work within a team where you will take on responsibility and contribute to the project team which may include other disciplines within the company. Working closely with technical leads to develop your skills and assist in delivery of project work. You will have involvement with individual clients with whom you are expected to promote a positive working relationship and be expected to plan your own time and assist the team leader and project managers in determining the resource requirements for your work.

You will be in a position to plan your route and have the drive and enthusiasm to reach Chartered status.

To apply:

  • You will have at least 1 years work experience in a relevant field, e.g. consultancy or contracting
  • Hold a BEng (Hons) or MEng in Civil Engineering (or related subject) 2:1 or above (or equivalent qualification)
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have the ability to work alone an as part of a team

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to travel and work at overseas offices and project sites as required, therefore you will be flexible and willing to travel.
