The opportunity

The Graduate Engineer will have a genuine enthusiasm for Engineering design. The role will involve assisting in the delivery of highway and drainage schemes for both private sector and local authority clients.

The role demands a proactive approach in a team environment and offers substantial opportunity for career progression within the company.

Graduate Engineers will be expected to contribute to the technical excellence of the team and can expect considerable experience on a variety of interesting and challenging projects.

Technical Competence:

  • Production of designs for infrastructure and associated planning schemes to appropriate standards from initial concept to detailed design.
  • Assist with inspections and surveys, preparation of reports and site supervision of projects
  • Manage small projects or elements as appropriate
  • Developing innovative design solutions to serve and benefit clients
  • Basic Knowledge of Section 278 and 38 of the Highways Act
  • ACAD/Civils 3D Program Knowledge
  • AVT understanding
  • Some knowledge of DMRB and Manual for Streets.

Responsibilities:

  • Assistance in preparation of reports and calculations
  • Undertaking surveys, and research for projects
  • Awareness of commercial and technical management of projects to assist in ensuring that they are managed effectively within budgetary constraints.
  • Developing innovative solutions to serve and benefit Clients
  • 2D Highway Alignment Design
  • Drawing Issue Register Creation
  • Drawing Register Upkeep
  • Preparing 3D models
  • Contributing to the technical development of the transport function in the UK. Staff will be encouraged to develop their own ideas.

Other Duties:

Carry out any duties which your line manager may reasonably request within the broad parameters of your role.
