Role Context:

This role may suit a recent graduate or a future graduate in 2022.

Our Graduate Engineers provide assistance with the production of technical studies and drawings within the Mobility & Infrastructure Advisory Group. The role demands a proactive approach in a team environment and offers substantial opportunity for supported career progression within the company.

You’ll be intrinsically curious about how transport interconnects with society and the environment, and be motivated to become technically excellent. Our graduates are a core part of our high performing team and as such you will gain considerable experience on a variety of interesting and challenging projects; large and small.

Job Role:

  • Assistance in preparation of highway alignment designs and construction packages
  • Keep up to date with latest software packages
  • Keep up to date with industry guideline changes and apply these to projects.
  • Production of construction drawing packages
  • Liaison with technical team members both internally and externally.
  • Liaison with approving statutory bodies as required
  • Undertaking surveys, and research for projects.
  • Manage elements of projects as appropriate.
  • Awareness of commercial and technical management of projects to assist in ensuring that they are managed effectively within budgetary constraints.
  • Developing innovative solutions to serve and benefit Clients.
  • Contributing to the technical development of the transport function in the UK.Staff will be encouraged to develop their own ideas.
  • Reviewing and/or producing of Civil 3D outputs.

This role might be right for you if:

  • You have a knowledge of DMRB and TSGD
  • You have a knowledge of Manual for Streets and relevant Highway standards
  • You have basic experience or exposure to Civil 3D and/or Microdrainage.
  • You have awareness of Vertical Design standards
  • You have awareness of Drainage Design standards
  • You are a good communicator (written and verbal)
  • You have a proven technical track record and ability;
  • You are a good team player to contribute to dynamic group
  • You are commercially aware
  • You have a desire to be Chartered through relevant Professional Bodies (eg CIHT,CILT, TPP)
  • Have a BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering
