I started as graduate at Royal HaskoningDHV in 2013 and from the beginning I was impressed values that are encouraged at the company, such as integrity, responsibility and excellence. Through the LAUNCH scheme, an 18 month graduate training programme, I developed a wide range of skills which enabled me to broaden my horizon as an Environmental Consultant at the company.
The graduate programme acted as a springboard for me to develop my career so far, during which I have worked on a variety of complex and interesting projects.
Recently my technical work has focused on carbon and climate change, and I have worked with a number of different organisations to calculate their carbon footprint and determine emission reduction strategies. Some examples include international shipping companies and ports, industrial facilities and manufacturers, and transport schemes. As part of my project work, I have also been able to travel extensively in the UK, and also internationally to Netherlands, Oman, South Korea and Bahrain.
I am now part of the Future Leaders course, a company wide scheme with fellow professionals from our offices all around the world which is focused on developing managerial and leadership skills.
Although I am only part way through this journey, I am now a regional team leader within the UK Environment Group, which includes looking out for staff in our Manchester and Liverpool offices.
Royal HaskoningDHV has given me the opportunity to develop myself within the workplace, and given me the launch pad to develop my career in the direction I wanted to follow.
