About the role

This opportunity is to join Gillette’s Process and Engineering Department as a Packing Engineer Intern.In this role you will design, deliver and validate market leading equipment to package our razors in worldwide manufacturing and packaging facilities, and work to bring innovation to life.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Mechanical Design from feasibility through to delivery of manufacturing equipment to meet the project needs using 3D CAD, FMECA, Transformation analysis and Robot simulation.
  • Provide expert input during design reviews to ensure the best value solutions to provide a competitive advantage.
  • Collaborating with product and packaging designers to establish Design for Manufacture considerations for future projects.
  • Ownership and management of project deliverables while collaborating with global manufacturing sites and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on-time,
  • within budget and meet quality standards.
  • Participate in risk assessments and the application of internal and external standards.
  • Delighting our consumers at the first and second moment of truth.
  • Driving P&G’s Ambition 2030 Sustainability goals: 50% less virgin plastic, 100% recyclable packaging, 30% less energy consumption within manufacturing sites

What to Expect: 

We offer 3 – 6 months internship placements with a potential start date between April and July 2023 at our Reading Innovation Centre.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE: 

  • Studying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in one of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field such as Production, Mechatronics or Robotic Engineering.
  • In the penultimate or final year of your degree.

  • Desire to challenge the established way of doing things through continual improvement and innovation, delighting our consumers.
  • Interest in investigating and implementing new technologies and processes to step change our products and equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills to influence others to take action.
