Ransomes Jacobsen Ltd, based in Ipswich, Suffolk, are seeking an Entry Level Trainee Facilities Manager to join the Company in Summer 2019. The role is one of constant demand and changing priorities, so we are looking for a keen individual who enjoys a challenge, and has the ambition to become a future leader to fulfil the role.
As the Trainee Facilities Manager, your initial purpose is to obtain broad knowledge and experience of the maintenance activities at Ransomes Jacobsen. Thereafter, it is expected that you will contribute to the scheduling and execution of planned and preventative maintenance, as well as completing and coordinating special projects. You will be responsible for servicing and maintaining the Company’s building services and production equipment, as well as tools from an electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic aspect in compliance with current procedures and regulations. You should be a confident and forward-thinking individual who wishes to learn and develop with an international business.
The projects/tasks will be varied, allowing you to gain a broad understanding of the business function. They will include, but are not limited to:
Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with all Company, Textron, and EH&S regulations and legislation
To carry our tasks for the maintenance workforce on a day-to-day basis to meet the demands and work plans of the department and Company
To carry out specific planned maintenance tasks as set by the PM schedule
To assist in ensuring the efficient operation of all Company plant and equipment and to make improvements where economic justification can be proven
To be committed to development of self and others in the Maintenance team, in the latest techniques and technology applicable to the plant and equipment
To assist in ensuring compliance with various regulations and requirements of legislation and authorities and with the general duty of care
To attend emergency call outs may be required
To assist with control of all contractors working on site and to see that they conform to the rules for contractors working on site
To assist in the selection and purchasing of components and parts for the repair of plant and equipment and any new work as required
To see that the plant and equipment manuals and operating instruction are maintained in a neat and tidy manner
To see that all records are maintained on all pieces of plant and equipment to meet the requirements of the Frontline Maintenance system
Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, environmental and quality management
Taking on specific/special projects as requested by the Operations Director
Other duties as required.
Degree educated or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
Highly organised and self-motivated individual who can demonstrate initiative, flexibility and adaptability
A keen interest in personal development
Strongly task oriented with strong communication skills
You should enjoy challenges and solving problems
Computer literate, with good analytical skills
Able to prioritise and manage tasks in an orderly fashion
Good attention to detail
Not afraid to try new things and extend their working knowledge to provide a level of service required to develop the department
Ability to anticipate business needs, and a proactive nature.
