King are proud to present our 2019 scholarship programme for aspiring women in games.
This scholarship will give you the opportunity to attend the 2019 Game Developer Conference in San Francisco and complete an internship in one of our games studios.
This initiative aims at encouraging more women into tech and gaming, and aspires to provide more women with the opportunity to grow their network, exchange ideas and ease the transition from student life to work life.
It is open to all female-identifying (cis,trans and non-binary) students with permanent EU or US residency pursuing a degree and considering a future in the games industry. The 2-6 months long internship will take place in either Barcelona, Stockholm, London, Malmö, Berlin or Seattle in either of the following areas; Development, Design, Art or Data Science.

Before you apply please take the time to review the below internship descriptions to decide which internship will suit you best. You can only choose one.
Development: With titles like Candy Crush, Bubble Witch and Farm Heroes, our code runs on hundreds of millions of devices across the world. As a Developer Intern at King, you can either get involved with the making of the games, where you together with your colleagues take part in the process of specifying, designing, building and implementing existing and new game features. Or join our teams working behind the scenes with our engines, systems and platforms instead. A game that looks good on paper is nice, but a game that plays brilliantly across all digital platforms is better. Help us do just that. For this opportunity you should be pursuing, or have recently finished, a degree in Computer Science, Game Development or a related course/subject.
Design: If you want to create amazing user experiences and entertainment for millions of players to enjoy on the go, then this is the right internship for you. As a Design Intern at King you will learn how we build games and invent new ways to delight our massive audience of players, and take part in it! Examples of what you could be working with as a Design Intern are game design, level design, balancing, testing, competitor analysis and game deconstruction. For this opportunity you should be pursuing, or have recently finished, a degree in Game Design or a related course/subject.
Art: As an Art Intern at King, you will be working within a passionate and experienced team to create magical moments for millions of people. You will be closely collaborating with other artists, producers, game designers and developers in order to do this. Your team contribution will help to create the magical characters and worlds that enchant millions in the real one. Examples of what you could be working with as an Art Intern are 2D Art, 3D Art, Animation, Technical Art and UI Art. For this opportunity you should be pursuing, or have recently finished, a degree in Art or a related course/subject and demonstrated skills in your area of expertise (be that 2D, 3D, tech art etc.).
Data Science: When we talk about big data, we’re talking about more than a billion gameplays and 10 billion events. Every day. Being part of the Business Performance team, you will work to further understand, model, predict, segment and monetise King’s customers, and help take King’s data capabilities to the next level. As a Data Science Intern, you will get a chance to dip your feet and take part in the typical tasks that fill our data scientists’ day. For this opportunity you should be pursuing, or have recently finished, a degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science, and have experience in dealing with large datasets, statistical analysis, and coding/programming skills in languages such as Java, R, Python.
