Meet the producers behind Farm Heroes Super Saga

The game reintroduces players to the beautiful farm lands where the quest to maintain peace continues as they switch and match their way through a range of exciting new features, game modes and social mechanics.

A Great Saga Needs All Sorts of Heroes

Making games is fun. Especially when you do it with people who share the same idea of what makes a good workplace great. We design games for everyone, no matter where they are or who they are, and we employ all sorts of people from all kinds of backgrounds to bring them to life. Truth is, we simply cannot expect diversity in our players and originality in our games without first nurturing it in our people. A great saga needs all sorts of heroes.

Making the World Playful

Making the World Playful is what inspires us to create new experiences and raise the bar. It’s what makes King a place where we can all dream bigger, continue to add innovation to our games, broadening the portfolio and exploring new territories in mid- core and casual. We take the art and science of gaming to the next level through our curiosity for the unexplored, passion for games, respect for each other and love for our players – and we’re not afraid to have fun along the way. In fact, together with our parent company Activision Blizzard and experts around the world, we believe having fun is good for you. There has never been a better time to join us. We're dreaming bigger and see a world of possibilities ahead. If you share our passion, our values, and our hunger to shape the future, join us in Making the World Playful!

Your role within our Kingdom

We are looking for extraordinarily skilled Interns from a variety of backgrounds and interests to join our Kingdom!

As a Creative Intern at King, you can either get involved with our Level Design teams building games and inventing new ways to delight our massive audience of players, work with our Technical Art teams building and evolving King’s internal game development framework and production pipeline, or join our UX Designers working on delivering extraordinary “play” experiences to our millions of players.

UX Design (Opportunities in London)

Our UX Designers work on the effective and optimised, visually appealing user interface systems. We team up with other disciplines inside and outside of the production teams to contribute to the aesthetic appeal of the game and to design, iterate, test, implement and analyse experiences and interfaces that will delight our players. You will learn how to fuse visual aesthetics, usability, and technical implementation into an accessible tool for our players to control the game. You will also get involved in projects such as: creating UX specs for new events, wireframes, screen flows and prototypes to help understand how the event is connected with other game features and helping to create a UX library (e.g. defining design patterns and making sure they are consistent across the game).

Technical Art (Opportunities in London)

Our Tech Artists participate in building and evolving King’s internal game development framework and production pipeline, used to create games like Candy Crush Saga and King’s other list- topping games. You will work with developers and game artists on improving the game engine and editor features and concepts/mock- ups. You will also own production of smaller tools, Maya scripts and similar as well as investigate, use, validate and stress test our game production toolset from the art and tech art end- user perspective. We are looking for talents with script writing skills in Maya & Photoshop with knowledge of Python or Javascript. We will also value knowledge/experience with 3D game engines such as Unity, Unreal or similar and other languages such as C++ or Rust.

Level Design (Opportunities in Berlin, London & Barcelona)

Our Level Designers create amazing user experience and entertainment for millions of players to enjoy on the go. They create interesting challenges for our huge player base and refine them thanks to peer reviews and data analyses.

We are looking for creative and well organised talents, with an open mind to feedback and an appetite for iterations. Experience using level editors and/or game creation tools is a strong plus for this role. You will see your work go from concept to live game!

Skills to create thrills

You should have a passion for games and the ability to work in a flexible and fluid environment, where the job will evolve over time.

Other skills include:

  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Creative problem- solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate closely with game designers, developers, technical artists, and UX designers
  • The ability to work well, both autonomously, and as part of a larger team
  • You should be pursuing, or have recently completed, an undergraduate or master’s degree in a relevant subject
