Our Environmental Specialists provide advice and support to all areas of our business, including those directly involved in our product (e.g. production, engineering and science) and our supporting functions (e.g. supply chain and project management). It includes production of Environmental assessments in support of our Environmental Permits or the Environmental Management System. It also involves undertaking regular site and facility inspections, participating in Environmental audits or activities supporting the delivery of the Company’s Environmental Sustainability Plan.
Our two-year programme offers opportunities in a variety of disciplines across our business. The programme is designed to be flexible, to incorporate a range of experiences as well as business needs. You’ll undertake several placements to expand your knowledge of your discipline, enabling you to develop yourself and your ongoing career. Your line manager will work with you to create an appropriate pathway for you – and support you on your journey.
Your on-programme learning will be complemented by on-job and off-job learning via online and classroom training courses, largely tailored to your discipline. You’ll also be part of a graduate project team focusing on a key business deliverable. With the support of your project sponsor, you’ll gain an insight into the challenges of delivering a group project to time, cost and quality targets. This experience will prove invaluable in developing your team working skills and building your network across AWE.
Our Graduate programme currently holds accreditation with 9 professional institutes - proof of the commitment we have to continuous professional development at AWE. You’ll be given a mentor and access to our heads of profession. Should you wish to achieve chartered status within your chosen discipline, they will give you the initial and ongoing support you need.
The closing date for applications to the Graduate Scheme is 14th October 2019. Successful candidates must be available to attend an Assessment Centre in November and December 2019 and start on the Graduate programme in September 2020.
