Main Activities
Participates in technical feasibility studies, FMEA’s, verification of equipment versus standards using Fit for Functions, Cap & R&R studies.
Organising pre-production, production runs and customer run & rates with production teams and Logistics for new products launches.
Following up engineering status and stock positions of finished products, semi-finished, components and special packaging.
OPTICHANGE meetings coordination.
Launch Readiness Reviews and data input to KEOPS.
PDCA meeting coordination.
Write and analyse process and equipment specifications.
Manage contractors on site including site inductions.
Raise DAI’s with cost justification presentations and documentation.
Responsible for all small capex installations while supporting OPTIPRO equipment installations.
Plan space requirements and update factory layouts.
Create timing plans and costings for new project introductions, process improvements and OPTICHANGE driven changes with justifications and payback calculations.
Define plant specific equipment (from specification to realisation) for plant and SILS centre.
Organise pre-production and production runs for customer events and trial builds.
Validate backup solutions coming from contingency plan.
Obtain plant management approval for any introduction, Process, H&S or Maintenance using timing plans, payback calculations and justifications.
Budget, arrange and order equipment spare parts selection.
Responsible through plant organisation to coordinate and to deliver tasks for project developments and New Project Introductions.
Prepare project planning, budgets reports and follow up with the MPM.
Defining plant specific equipment and Capex equipment from volume requirements and specification to realisation, for shop floor and SILS centre.
Assist the shift leaders in defining Standard Operation Procedures for production operators.
Preparing and updating layouts of the process and equipment in the plant.
Activities:
Responsible through plant organisation to coordinate and to deliver tasks for the project development.
Ensure closed loop communication with the core team and the plant.
Manage and feed into PDCA meetings monitoring actions to closure.
Prepare and update project planning, budgets and reports to follow up with the plant and MPM’s.
ECN management for all plant changes, preparing costs, cycle times and planning impacts with all departments.
Defining plant specific equipment (from specification to realisation) for plant and SILS centre.
Preparing layouts of the process and equipment in the plant and keep plant layouts up to date.
Budget, obtain supplier quotes and order equipment’s spare parts.
Technical feasibility studies, FMEA’s, verification of equipment versus standards.
Safety assessments
Analyse process failures root cause analysis using (POMS A3)
Reception of equipment with sign off using R&R, Fit for Function, Capacity and Capability studies.
Organises and support pre-production trials and customer Run & Rates.
Following up engineering status and stock positions of finished products, semi-finished products, components and special packaging during pre-production builds.
Plan customer spare parts validation.
Project manage production transfer between plants.
Look for cost reduction opportunities during launch and serial production, using lean manufacturing techniques.
Management of serial modifications requested by customer in the form of DRFQ feedback and OPTICHANGE revisions.
Candidate profile
Ideally, degree qualified in an Engineering/Manufacturing discipline
Experience in methods, plant organisation and layouts.
Good knowledge of plastic manufacturing
Manufacturing NPI experience.
APQP & PPAP experience.
Six Sigma green belt preferred, but not essential
Automotive experience first or second tier.
Lean manufacturing experience.
Strong Communication skills.
PC competent.
Automotive Projects experience.
Experience in plant organisation and lay out.
