Where the STEM jobs are
Gradcracker works here's the proof
"I love the culture within this business and the people I meet on daily basis are very approachable and friendly."
I’m current based on the Thames Tideway tunnel enabling works project. I work on a few different sites, mainly Deptford Church Street and Albert Embankment from the site offices in Greenwich, London. The project itself is focused on the new Thames Tideway Tunnel which is to be built, I am working on the re-routing of different underground services to enable to tunnel to be built in the next few years.
I graduated from Waterford institute of technology in Ireland in May 2015. My degree was in Sustainable civil engineering. I joined Murphy’s graduate programme in September 2015 and the opportunity came to me through pure luck. I had heard that the graduate programme offers exposure to various sectors (water, power, marine, building etc.) which appealed to me as I had a lot to learn.
I initially joined working in the temporary works team where I stayed for 9 months. I then moved to the Thames Tideway job to get more site exposure. I have since been looking after all engineering works, material take-offs, setting up, marking up services and dealing with any complications that arise on site.
I love the culture within this business and the people I meet on daily basis are very approachable and friendly. The standard of project delivery is extremely high.
I have completed my graduate programme a year early and am now moving in to a site engineering role – I can’t wait
