Where the STEM jobs are
Gradcracker works here's the proof
"I was inspired by the different sectors the company operate in which appealed to me as I wanted to join a company that would give me a variety of experiences."
I initially joined J Murphy as a graduate civil engineering working in their natural resources and marine business. I carried out the role for approximately 8 months then moved to the civils operational unit in to a commercial role. I applied for early graduation off the programme once I had committed to changing from engineering to surveying, I felt that going to on to convert my degree and study a masters would put me in a strong position to carry out the position of assistant quantity surveyor. I am now based on the Gospel Oak to Barking project in Hornsey where Network Rail are the client. The overall project objective is to provide an electrified route infilling the currently electrified sections of line between Barking and Gospel Oak.
I graduated with a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering in September 2016 from the University of East London.
Towards the end of my final year of university I began searching for a graduate programme & during that search I came across an opportunity at Murphy. I was inspired by the different sectors the company operate in which appealed to me as I wanted to join a company that would give me a variety of experiences. Murphy is a company with a lot of friendly, welcoming and well experienced colleagues from different professional backgrounds, it’s a wealth of knowledge to absorb. If you are a graduate not completely sure about your future then the academy and programme is for you. It provides you the platform to experience different industry roles, network and experience compulsory placements to further enhance your knowledge.
