William Hare offers a fantastic graduate programme across our UK business. As a graduate you will work through a structured two and a half year programme, combining practical experience, academic learning and professional development whilst also offering the opportunity to work with and learn from senior members of the business.

During your induction you will have the opportunity to visit our UK facilities, see some of our live construction sites, take part in team building activities and get to know your fellow graduates

Throughout the programme, you will continue to benefit from ongoing support from your mentor and our Learning and Development team. As well as your day-to-day role, you’ll also be part of a business improvement project team, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). This real world project will be an opportunity like no other and your hard work will have a genuine impact on our business.

About the programme

Based in Bury, our Graduate Engineer programme will give you plenty of opportunity for on-the-job learning working in structural design, decking, project engineering and CAD. You will have the opportunity to complete an MSc in Structural Engineering, enabling you to become Chartered with the help of a rotation programme and mentoring group. 

Being part of a graduate cohort you will attend regular development meetings and team building events, and have the opportunity to travel and work around the UK.

Who we’re looking for:

What you’ll need

  • 2:2 BEng (Hons), MEng (Hons), or BSc (Hons) in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Experience within an engineering environment (preferred)
  • Eligibility to work and live permanently in the UK

What we’re looking for

  • A team-focus with the ability to communicate and build relationships with a wide variety of people at all levels
  • A driven, self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work on your own initiative and influence key decisions
  • Customer focused
  • IT skills (in particular Word and Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Good attention to detail
