The primary role of the Mechanical Engineering Department is to ensure that the customer, legal and internal requirements are embodied in the product design, analysed and verified to ensure compliance. The position will require you to undertake a wide variety of project related engineering tasks including some, or all of the following:
Technical requirement analysis/specification development
Feasibility and trade studies
Generation of CAD models and engineering drawings to accurately represent the concept
Miscellaneous engineering analyses
Extensive product development reviews with stakeholders
Simulation and ‘Proof of Concept’ testing
Report writing for internal and external consumption
Attending trial installations
Intensive use of MS Excel and other technical/analytical software.
To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required / instructed in order to maintain and / or improve the efficiency, quality and service provided by the Systems Engineering Department.
You must be working towards a good degree (1st or Upper 2nd Class Hons) in an appropriate engineering based subject (e.g. mechanical engineering, aeronautical, or aerospace engineering).
Communication skills: able to communicate verbally, in presentation format and in writing
Good data analysis skills
Good Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills.

The ideal applicant will have:
A sound grasp of scientific / engineering theory balanced with a practical approach to engineering problems
Some work experience in an engineering company.

For positions that require Security Clearance, the successful candidate must hold or be willing to obtain security clearance up to the relevant level for the role.
