At Sellafield, we’re true pioneers. We led the world in nuclear power production, now we’re the world’s first movers into environmental remediation. Building on our rich history, we’re striding into an era where we’ll transform the environment, local society, the regional economy and the global nuclear industry.
Covering six square kilometres, the site in West Cumbria is home to more than 200 nuclear facilities. A team of 11,000 people here work alongside our supply chain partners, to tackle a diverse portfolio of decommissioning, reprocessing, spent fuel management, nuclear waste management and nuclear material management.
We want you to grow in every sense. Our future, as well as yours depends on you hitting the peak of your potential. We’ll invest significant resources developing your personal and behavioural skills so that you become an influential all-round professional.
In the two years that you’re a part of the programme, we’ll give you all the support you need to achieve chartered status and the opportunity to do placements in a variety of business areas. We’ll ensure we maximise your skills, confidence and experience.
We have a thriving graduate community run by an elected group of representatives who organise frequent social activities ensuring you play as hard as you work. You will also be assigned a graduate buddy who will be more of a peer support and will help you move smoothly from student to professional life.
As part of our 24-month project management and project controls graduate programme you will typically take the role of supporting the Project Manager or Project Controls Manager.
Whilst working in either of these roles you will be given responsibilities such as writing key documentation, leading meetings, updating key project documentation such as the project schedule, and estimate and compile information for period end among a range of other things.
You will be asked during your application form which would be your preferred route within the profession, either project management, IT project management or project controls. Please ensure you visit our programme areas page for more information on these routes.
Although we ask you to select a preferred route, we will get to know you through the application process to ensure that where you are placed is the best fit for you.
Whichever profession you join us in you’ve got so much to look forward to. Not least complex challenges and the opportunity to learn from industry – sometimes world – experts.
