Covering six square kilometres, the site in West Cumbria is home to more than 200 nuclear facilities. A team of 11,000 people work here alongside our supply chain partners, to tackle a diverse portfolio of decommissioning, reprocessing, spent fuel management, nuclear waste management and nuclear material management.
We have opportunities for ambitious, curious, open-minded students to join us in our Project Management profession on a year-long industrial placement.
You’ll need to be on track or expected to achieve at least a 2:1 in your degree discipline and ideally will be within your penultimate year of study.
Our 12-month industrial placement programme is ideal for students looking to complete a placement during their time at university. The placement is designed to provide you with a flavour of what it is like to work at Sellafield Ltd and although you are only with us for a year, we can assure you that you will still feel you have made a difference.
As part of the Industrial Placement programme you will get the chance to take part in activities that will allow you develop your skills in line with our Graduate Programme and also allow you to obtain valuable employability skills and experience.
Whist on the placement, students typically take the role of supporting the Project Manager or Project Controls Manager; whilst working in these roles students are given hands on responsibility and accountability for delivering work in a real-world situation on a live project.
