Gradcracker works here's the proof
"One of the best the things about working at Kautex is that your development is always monitored, not only am I keeping up with my requirements but the company is also keeping up with theirs."
I attained a first class degree in Mechanical engineering from Huddersfield university whilst also taking a year out for first-hand experience in industry as an engineering placement student in a large pharmaceutical company. This experience solidified my need to work at a company where development and improvement is really pushed so I can personally help the company move forward and improve processes.
In my first two weeks at Kautex, Liversedge I shadowed some of the more experienced team leaders in the factory before taking up my first role leading a team on one of the newly installed SCR lines. I had to quickly learn the dynamics of a team and ensure my own team worked together to control scrap and were pushed to achieve performance targets by constantly working on any weak areas. From this, I moved on to complete a secondment in the logistics department where I took control of production & material planning for a large scale stock build on our Renault SCR line, whilst also working to improve the sites stock accuracy from 93 to 97% (99.95% net).
I have now taken over role as Production Specialist on SCR where I am constantly looking for process development methods, key areas for scrap reduction and working with the teams to investigate any quality issues in SCR production. Whilst working in the focus factory management team my main enjoyment has come from pushing towards set targets and picking the key areas will give the greatest benefit to OEE/scrap.
