Job Description

Completion of the company Graduate Development Framework (GDF) as required by the business over a 2 year period

Gain over the 2 year GDF period a full understanding of the basics of the assurance role in support of IPTs by shadowing and undertaking tasks under supervision by the Assurance Team

Gain, over the 2 year GDF period, a general understanding of how the Division, Line of Business and sectors operate with particular emphasis on Business Winning, Engineering, Procurement (including the external supply chain and workshare partners) and Manufacturing and Supply Chain discipline.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Completion, with positive feedback as part of periodic performance reviews, the 2 year GDF programme
  • Engagement and contribution to extra curricular activities such as; Fit For The Future, Schools Ambassador, etc
  • Has developed a basic understanding of the Assurance roles and responsibilities in support of the IPT and the wider business
  • Is able to provide Assurance assistance within their allocated area in support of and under the guidance and supervision (if required) of the assurance team.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

All of our roles require (a) a minimum of an upper Second class Bachelors/Integrated Masters degree, or (b) a higher degree, such as a MSc or PhD. In all cases the subject should be engineering, quality, manufacturing or experience in Defence Electronics or similarly "complex" industry.

  • Demonstrate knowledge in applying Quality Tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action, Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification.
  • Be a logical thinker, capable of harvesting complex data into actions with a practical solutions that supports business goals, in 'the language of the business'.
  • Have good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style across all functions of the business.
  • Be able to demonstrate experience in working with Customers and Suppliers.
