Key Responsibility Areas
You will work closely with experienced and multi-disciplined engineers to solve real problems
You will work with minimal supervision within a small team following Agile software development practices
Software development will include the full software lifecycle from requirements analysis; through design, coding and unit test; to integrating the software with the hardware target; and to acceptance test and delivery to the customer
You will design and implement high quality robust code and support build, configuration control, and deployment
You will be expected to complete tasks and documentation in accordance with appropriate processes and procedures and take an active role in engineering process improvement
You will be an effective communicator

Qualifications
All of our roles require (a) a minimum of an upper Second class Bachelors/Integrated Masters degree, or (b) a higher degree, such as a MSc or PhD. In all cases the subject should be engineering, mathematics, physics or another relevant discipline.
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
Essential:
You will have a degree level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant STEM discipline
Experience of developing software in the C++ and C# programming languages
Experience of full stack web development using HTML5, XML, JSON, Javascript, C#, IIS, Apache and MySQL and SQL Server databases
Knowledge of developing software for complex distributed system environments under Linux Windows desktop and server
Knowledge of creating new and developing existing UML designs in IBM Rhapsody.
Experience in use of Coding Standards and Automated Test Tools
Highly desirable:
Good understanding of agile software development and experience of using JIRA, FishEye, Confluence, Git and BitBucket.
Knowledge of communication systems and understanding of networking Microsoft Exchange server, Internet Mail and military messaging and the related STANAG, ACP and RFC standards.
