Your role as a Leonardo Graduate RF Engineer will be to support the design and development of our world leading electro-optical, communications and information system products under the guidance of experienced Electronics Engineering Leads.
You will be introduced to utilising state-of-the-art methods, technology and tools to explore all aspects of the development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, test, acceptance and product support.
As a Graduate RF Engineer within the Electronics Engineering function, you will design, document, and test RF designs to go into our various systems. This work will enhance your current understanding of the RF/Microwave domain and the implementation of RF designs.
You will interface with customers (internal and external) on many factors within the design and liaise closely with Engineers from all other disciplines including, Software, Systems, Supportability and Design Integrity.
The opportunity will be there to engage with all of these disciplines across a diverse range of products including Airborne and Naval Communication systems, Vehicle Mission Systems, Counter UAV systems, Precision Guidance systems and Electronic Warfare products.
There will be opportunities to develop expertise in RF design across the full hardware lifecycle for our products from system concept, through detailed design and prototyping, test and verification, system integration and support in production.
Mandatory
Please note that in order to apply for this opportunity you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance. Normally this is to the level of Security Check (typically known as “SC”) for our business which includes having a minimum of 5 years permanent residency in the UK.
All of our roles require (a) a minimum of an upper Second class Bachelors/Integrated Masters degree, or (b) a higher degree, such as a MSc or PhD. In all cases the subject should be engineering, physics or another relevant STEM discipline.
An Electronics based degree including modules covering topics such as RF and Microwave design, Antennas and Propagation and Signal Processing is Highly Desirable.
