What will you be doing?
You will support the Project managers to deliver tailored solutions to our customers for the complete range of Rolls-Royce cars. The project management and manufacturing department is intensely involved in every stage of the development & manufacturing process. Starting with evaluating the design feasibility then developing engineering solutions and working on the detailed costing and evaluation studies for the business case approval to finally overseeing the manufacture of products for the finished vehicle.
You will support the prototype manufacture of parts, which will involve both single part and sub-assemblies. You will be involved in teams investigating new ideas and materials for the experimentation and innovations processes. A lot of great ideas have come from our previous interns.
You will work on integrating logistics and packaging solutions so parts are supplied to the vehicle on time. You will gain first-hand experience how quality is controlled to the highest standards using tools like PFMEA, control plans and value-added Production Systems methodology (VPS).
You will be involved in problem solving, using structured and proven methodology to find route cause and then develop robust solutions.
The department you will work for also has a manufacturing facility, with the latest cutting-edge technology including laser cutting and engraving machines, UV printing technology and Additive manufacturing in the form of 3D printing. It also has CNC milling and paint facilities, enabling the manufacture most things our customers can dream up.
