Keira Hall

Placement Technology Consultant

"Even as a Placement we’re encouraged to gain further qualifications during our time here. I’m studying to take the ITIL and Prince2 foundation exams."

BSc Information Technology Management for Business, Northumbria University

Why a Placement year?

Definitely go out and find a placement – I have learnt so much from being on placement at Waterstons already and I’m gaining real world experience that university just can’t provide.

Projects involved in

My first site visit was to one of Waterstons manufacturing clients. This was my first ever site visit and I found out all about the running of the business and how IT had a major influence on their daily working.

Typical day

I spend a lot of my time interacting with the Service Desk team; monitoring the progress of tickets, managing clients expectations, carrying out analyses and providing support where necessary (as well as resolving tickets too!). I also help to support the continual improvement of the team.
