We are delighted to have won Best Wellbeing in the Workplace Strategy Award – Large Business at the Irish News Workplace and Employment Awards.

The award recognises businesses with healthy and happy staff which has an excellent approach to work-life balance, health and wellbeing practices.  In addition, the award considered those which have support and policies in place to benefit their employees while getting results.

At Farrans, we know that our best asset is our people, this is why we continue to invest significantly in the wellbeing, physical and mental, of all our employees, across all locations of our business. We strive to be innovative and forward thinking in our approach to mental health in the construction sector.

Several years ago, we found a gap in support for our employees. The routine of travel, and the move from project to project, new locations, with new people can sometimes be challenging and isolating.

We took this opportunity to speak to our people and feedback from managers offered us a better understanding of the openness to conversations around mental health, and the desire for further training.

With the feedback received, we now have a dedicated Mental Health Champion, Lisa Haycock, who spearheads our training programme, and who has created our Well Together Strategy.
