Role outline

You will be guided by the Senior Civil Engineers & Management to gain commercial, technical, and financial management experience working on a live project. Through mentoring and coaching you will develop your knowledge and understanding of the assigned project alongside the Farrans working culture Travel is expected as part of this role to construction sites, company fixed locations and other project related needs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare drawings and calculations for civil and structural engineering works associated with bridges, highways, windfarms, pipelines, and drainage sectors
  • Liaise with Senior Civil Engineers, clients’ engineers, contractors, subcontracts, and statutory bodies to ensure the delivery of programme is within deadline and agreed budget
  • Compile data and capture records to monitor the use of site resources
  • Providing assistance to the Senior Civil Engineers, liaising with clients and carrying out site investigations
  • Check designs, drawings, and data to ensure quality control and compliance procedures are adhered to

Skills & Experience required

Aside from being passionate about starting a career in the building and civils industry. You will need to have a high attention to detail coupled with meticulous planning and organisational skills

  • Hold bachelor’s degree, HNC OR HND in Engineering Discipline
  • Hold a full UK driving license
  • Open to living away from home
  • Flexible approach to working hours and locations
  • Desirable – knowledge of health & safety, AutoCAD
