What are we looking for?
We are looking for the next generation of talented Engineers to join our Electronic Warfare and Cyber Security teams for 12 months as Industrial Placement students as part of a relevant degree. We have four positions available across our Engineering teams who cover a broad range including Software, Hardware, FPGA, GUI and algorithm projects.
We are looking towards the future and we will be looking for our Industrial Placements to return as Graduates who will continue to innovate in our business and deliver to our customers within the defence industry. As an Industrial Placement Student, you will receive top quality, on the job training from our experienced Engineers who will coach and develop you in order for you to become an experienced Engineer later in your career.

Depending on which team you join, as an Industrial Placement Student you will be involved with some of the following:
Design, development and implementation of software, primarily in C++, including embedded systems, control and real-time. Documentation of design specifications and implementation details.
The realisation of complex system requirements to provide robust and reliable software solutions. Solid and well-considered designs are vital.
Obtaining an appreciation of the system as a whole in order to provide the most effective and appropriate software solution.
Collaboration with other team members (including both hardware and software engineers) to discuss system designs, interfaces and protocols etc.
Integration of the developed software on the target hardware with other system components and firmware.
Devising appropriate test procedures, both informal and formal, to prove the correct.
What do I need to be successful?
A minimum of an A in Maths at A Level (or equivalent) .
At least 3 A Levels (or equivalent) graded A, A, B.
Pursuing a degree in either Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or Systems Engineering.
Whilst not essential, the following experience would be advantageous:
Some practical experience of embedded and real-time systems.
Some understanding and appreciation of underlying digital hardware.
A familiarity with digital communications.
Knowledge of UML notation, design methodologies and tools.
General networking knowledge (including IP).
Writing software to procedure with knowledge of testing and documentation processes.
