The Data Curation and Integration Pod collaborates extensively across our Pharma Research & Development organisation to make it easier to re-use, manage and share data to maximise its value for R&D insights and for our patients. This effort is creating a diverse set of data mart assets to enable new analysis opportunities to accelerate the generation of meaningful scientific insights to support more efficient clinical trials, faster filings, and large-scale analyses needed to realise Roche’s personalised healthcare vision.
What Roche Welwyn provides for early career opportunities for students and graduates.
The Data Scientist works across the Insights delivery organisations and will develop good knowledge of data from a variety of sources ( e.g. clinical trials, real world data), and can quickly learn and understand new data modalities (e.g. high dimensional biomarker data). The Data Scientist works closely with peers, internal and external partners and stakeholders (e.g. Biostatistician, Clinical Scientist, Biomarker Scientist, Bioinformatics etc.) and will develop a good understanding of the analysis plan, and molecule and disease indication knowledge in order to contribute to the harmonisation and integration of highly complex clinical and high dimensional biomarker data to create advanced data mart data products.
The Data Scientists along with contributing to a use case data mart, interacting with members of the use-case team to assess requirements for clinical dataset creation will also have opportunities to design and contribute to innovative technical projects and experiments to help build a business to pool and integrate clinical and high dimensional biomarker data from internal and external sources via the development of software to support the Data Curation and Integration (DCI) clinical trial data curation and integration pipeline.
During this exciting 4-year apprenticeship, you will work towards a fully funded Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Data Science whilst gaining valuable ‘on the job’ experience and mentoring from our talented experts at Roche.
