The UK business is spread across two locations: Southampton in the South-West of England and Ruabon in North Wales. Originally part of the UK business that joined CeramTec via an acquisition in 2017, both sites have transformed over the past five years to what you will find today. In Southampton, we operate as a Centre of Excellence for Sensor and Transducer design and manufacture within the Industrial Division of CeramTec, as well as housing the UK shared service functions of Finance and I.T. In Ruabon, we manufacture and produce piezo and dielectric ceramic products and components which are supplied into a wide range of markets including Medical Equipment, Machinery and Defence.
Overview to our opportunity
We are looking for someone who is in the early stages of their career but has a thirst for development within a unique technical manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and curious, with good analytical skills.
You will be part of our technical team developing materials and ceramic components for use in our manufacturing processes.
Training for this role will be provided on-the-job by a team of ceramic engineers. Off-site training opportunities are also available to develop the right candidate.

Location of Role
The location of this role is Ruabon, Wrexham. The position will be based full-time from the site to ensure the successful candidate is close to the wider manufacturing team.
Duties include:
Ensure that ceramic (dielectric and piezoelectric) components are manufactured with consistency via continuous improvement of the manufacturing process.
This will include validation of new raw materials, processes, and equipment by supporting the production team from the start of the process through to the end-of-line.
Developing materials and ceramic components for improved and/or consistent performance in line with the business needs.
To work closely with production personnel to ensure that ‘best practice’ is adopted for the manufacture of ceramic components.
To work closely with the technical and new product introduction teams in establishing product performance and quality specifications to meet the requirements of our customers for new products introduced to the business.
To identify areas for improved process control and implement their use.
To determine the root cause of problems with material development, ceramic components, and final assemblies.
To identify tests or equipment that can be used to analyse powder or finished component quality.
To prepare ceramic samples for in-house examination and for external test providers.
Career experiences & skills:
A-levels in science, technology, or math’s related subjects essential
Good analytical skills and proven experience in the application of these for problem solving.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to deliver to a wide range of audiences.
Proficiency in MS Office is essential.
Previous use of statistical software packages such as Minitab is preferred.
Fluent English essential.

Assessment Process
The assessment process will be a three-step process:
Submit c.v. / application
1st stage interview with hiring manager on site at Ruabon.
2nd stage interview with hiring manager, and may include a presentation task
