Mechanical Engineering Internship - 12 Months

The role

Engineering is at the heart of what we do at CeramTec and we are always looking to bring new talent into our UK team.

Our newly created internship opportunity will commence in September 2018 and last for up to 12 months. Based in Southampton you will be part of the Project Engineering team supporting our Flow business team, providing project engineering support to ensure we create products that meet the demands of our customers and can be manufactured to a high standard in our business.

Your tasks will be varied including working on new customer funded projects or delivering updates and new capabilities to our standard sensor and transducer range. Day to day tasks will include amongst others;

  • Technical product testing and report writing;
  • Specification writing;
  • Design analysis;
  • Exposure to quality management standards
  • Supplier management, system / data documentation; and
  • Project management activities and support.

The role will need to follow the relevant ISO standards and you will be working towards concluding phases of an APQP style project.

Candidate profile

Essentials:

  • Currently studying for a degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering – on track for 2:1 minimum.
  • English language - business level fluency.
  • Numerate.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Right to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Advantageous:

  • Experience of using CAD .
  • Full UK driving licence.
