Save to shortlist Saved to shortlist Apply now

Have you recently graduated in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering or are you going to graduate in either of these subjects in summer 2021?  Wanting a career within the FMCG manufacturing sector?  Are you looking for an engineering opportunity that will inspire you, and allow you to develop your process engineering skills as well as utilize your inquisitive mind on a daily basis?

Then Essity as a fast-paced, global health and hygiene manufacturer which produces market-leading consumer tissue products such as Velvet and Cushelle is the right company for you!

What is it like to work for Essity?

Our employees tell us what it's like working at Essity. Every day, we perform meaningful work, improving well-being through our hygiene and health products and solutions.

About The Role

Essity is looking for a talented and self-motivated graduate who has studied chemical engineering or mechanical engineering to join our site in Prudhoe, Northumberland, UK.  You will be assigned responsibilities from day one in our converting hall – where our finished products roll off the line.

Working at Essity is not just a career; it is a chance to directly make the world a healthier, more hygienic and safer place through our blockbuster innovations coupled with sustainable solutions. We want you to help shape the future of Essity through contributing your chemical knowledge, developing our processes and being part of our network of people leaders.

We're looking for people who embody our values, aren't afraid to challenge, innovate, experiment, and move at a fast pace. We're always looking for ways to improve our products and ourselves. If this is you, we'd love to talk.

What You Will Do

As a graduate engineer you will play a central role in challenging the status quo, driving change and making a positive impact by delivering concrete results. You will be joining our professional converting hall production team, where you will work closely with experienced colleagues and developing your knowledge and skills.  You will be learning and providing input on our processes – collecting, compiling, and analyzing production data to identify opportunities to improve production processes – including energy and waste.  You will also be learning to troubleshoot (for example, following root cause analysis methodology), as well as driving projects to support continuous improvements and deliverables. Throughout you will be driving your own continued learning through completion of our industry-specific in-house training modules.

Who You Are

You will be a recent qualified graduate as a chemical or mechanical engineer (Bachelor or Master degree qualified) or such a student who graduates in summer 2021. You will have a compulsive curiosity about how engineering can play its part in delivering for the future.  You should be a data driven and a process-improvement enthusiast who can make clear proposals from their own analytical work, demonstrate that you are a successful team player, have a passion to lead others and manage responsibilities given to you.

Work experience is not required, but internships within a manufacturing environment is an advantage.

What We Can Offer You

At Essity, we believe every career is as unique as the individual and empower employees to reach their full potential in a winning culture motivated by a powerful purpose.

We offer you a challenging job in a global company with many strong international brands. We offer a permanent contract with a competitive salary, pension (10% employer contribution), bonus opportunity as well as 27 days holiday (plus bank holidays) from the get-go.
